BLOWER DOOR TESTING / AIR TIGHTNESS MEASUREMENTS
For both our clients and contractors, Building Science Group is your go-to source if you are constructing a new building, or remodeling an old one. New York State now requires a air-tightness test that meets the 2020 Building Code, &the 2020 Energy Code. Building Science Group, LLC has the knowledge, experience, equipment, and certification to pressurize your building to 50 pascals and find several required measurements:
(The total volume of building being lost to the outside that must be heated or cooled per hour. Less air exchanges per hour means less money spent. More air exchanges per hour means more money wasted heating or cooling the outside environment).
The blower door in conjunction with smoke pens, and/or thermal imaging cameras can help find the main areas of air infiltration and help develop an action plan or priority.

THERMAL CAMERA IMAGING
We use top of the line thermal imaging to make visible the hidden temperature inefficiencies of your building.
The camera can pick up areas of inefficiency that we would not otherwise be able to feel or sense. This is best used in conjunction with the blower door test.
Temperature differentials are normal in a homes different door, windows, walls, floors, and ceilings. Knowing how much differential is vital to finding out how much energy is being lost through the thermodynamic of conduction.
